Crash with injuries reported on South Locust Street in Oxford

SEARCHING FOR TWO OTHER PEOPLE. AFTER THREE JUVENILES WERE ARRESTED IN AN ATTACK ON A METRO BUS. BUT INVESTIGATORS SAY HAPPENED. AND IT’S ALL SUNSHINE FOR NOW. BUT EVENTUALLY, LATER TONIGHT, MORE STORMS THREATENING THE FORECAST. I’LL TELL YOU WHEN THEY ARRIVE AND THE THREATS WE FACE JUST AHEAD AND A SUSPECT HAS BEEN ARRESTED NEARLY A WEEK AFTER A DEADLY SHOOTING IN MOUNT HEALTHY. WHAT HAPPENED WHEN HE FACED A JUDGE THIS MORNING? THIS IS WLWT NEWS 5 LEADING THE WAY. ALL RIGHT. DRY SKIES TODAY. THAT DOES CHANGE, BUT NOT UNTIL YOU’RE SLEEPING. THANKS FOR JOINING US AT NOON. I’M KELLY RIPPIN. I’M STEVEN ALBRITTON. RAIN AND STORMS WILL BE RETURNING OVERNIGHT. METEOROLOGIST ADAM BURNISTON JOINING US NOW. ADAM. WE HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY RIGHT NOW. WE DO HAVE TO KEEP OUR EYE ON WHAT’S AHEAD. YEAH. LATE TONIGHT IN THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT. WE’LL START TO SEE SOME STORMS MOVE IN. BUT FOR THE TIME BEING IT’S GREAT TO GET OUTDOORS, ENJOY THE WEATHER, ENJOY THAT SUNSHINE AND TEMPERATURES KIND OF EARLY SUMMER LIKE FEEL AGAIN FOR TODAY. SO WE WILL HAVE THAT WITH US. THEY LET US OUT OF THE BUILDING TO GO TO THE BALLPARK AND IT WAS YEAH, IT WAS LIKE LETTING THE KIDS OUT UNSUPERVISED. WE WERE VERY EXCITED. NOT BAD AT ALL. AND WE’LL HAVE WE’LL HAVE THAT FORECAST FOR THE BASEBALL WEATHER LATER ON INTO THIS WEEK, FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND. BUT AS I MENTIONED TODAY, IT’S GREAT OUT THERE. 65 RIGHT NOW. THOSE WINDS PRETTY LIGHT. SO IT’S NOT AS GUSTY AS WHAT WE’VE BEEN SEEING. THE PAST FEW DAYS. A CLEAR RADAR HERE ACROSS GREATER CINCINNATI. MUCH OF THE TRI-STATE. BUT ONCE WE EXPAND IT, YOU SEE THIS NEXT SYSTEM OUT TO OUR WEST, OUT IN PARTS OF KANSAS CITY, UP TOWARDS PARTS OF MILWAUKEE, CHICAGO AREA. THAT IS WHAT WE’RE WATCHING FOR LATER ON TONIGHT TO BRING US A CHANCE OF AT LEAST A LOW END, SEVERE THREAT. THE BETTER CHANCES TO OUR SOUTHWEST AS WELL, DOWN TOWARDS EVANSVILLE, WESTERN PARTS OF KENTUCKY, HERE WITHIN CINCINNATI, WE ARE UNDER A MARGINAL RISK. SO THAT’S A LEVEL ONE OUT OF FIVE FROM THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER. SO WE ARE EXPECTING SOME STRONG WINDS, POSSIBLY SOME LIGHT HAIL. BUT AGAIN, THIS IS ALL COMING LATE TONIGHT. SO FOR THIS AFTERNOON WE’LL BE INTO THE MID TO UPPER 70S NEAR 80 DEGREES AGAIN. AND THEN FOR YOUR EVENING PLANS THINGS LOOKING PRETTY GOOD UNTIL WE GET TO ABOUT 11 TO MIDNIGHT. SO AHEAD OF MY FULL FORECAST WE’RE GOING TO BE TALKING MORE ABOUT THAT HOUR BY HOUR FORECAST WHEN THOSE STORMS ARRIVE. AND I’LL BREAK DOWN MORE OF THOSE THREATS COMING UP HERE IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. KELLY AND STEVEN. ALL RIGHT, ADAM, THANK YOU. JUST A HEADS UP FOR TRAFFIC. IF YOU HAVE TO HEAD OUT AND ABOUT. SO THERE’S A MAJOR SLOWDOWN ON 75 RIGHT NEAR 74. WE ARE SEEING REPORTS OF A TRACTOR TRAILER FIRE. SO YOU CAN SEE THE TRAFFIC IS SLOW. IT LOOKS LIKE THE ACTUAL INCIDENT IS A LITTLE BIT FURTHER SOUTH FROM THE CAMERA. SO WE’RE NOT ABLE TO SEE THAT. BUT TRAFFIC IS BUILDING THERE. AN AREA OBVIOUSLY WHERE WE SEE A LOT OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. SO WE WILL LET YOU KNOW. AND IF WE GET A BETTER SHOT OF WHAT’S GOING ON, WE WILL BRING THAT TO YOU AS WELL AS ANY OTHER DETAILS. NEW AT NOON A BRUTAL ATTACK ON A CINCINNATI METRO BUS IN COLERAIN TOWNSHIP. HAPPENING NOW A MEETING TO DISCUSS AND REVIEW HOW AMBER ALERTS ARE ISSUED THROUGHOUT OHIO. AND THIS COMES AMID CONCERNS ABOUT WHY EVERYONE IS NOT GETTING THE SAME ALERT. IF AN ABDUCTION IS NOT TOO FAR AWAY NOW, LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS INTO THE YEAR, SIX AMBER ALERTS HAVE BEEN ISSUED SO FAR. THAT IS COMPARED TO NINE OF ALL OF LAST YEAR. AND THEN 6 IN 2022. ONCE POLICE DETERMINED AN ABDUCTION MEETS AMBER ALERT REQUIREMENTS, ELECTRONIC ALERTS GET SENT OUT TO THE DIFFERENT REGIONS. YOU CAN SEE THEM ON YOUR MAP THERE, DEPENDING ON WHERE THE ABDUCTION HAPPENED, ALERTS COULD BE SENT TO MULTIPLE ZONES. WE ARE HOPING TO LEARN AT THIS MEETING TODAY EXACTLY HOW THESE REGIONAL ALERTS ARE DETERMINED, AS WELL AS INSIGHT INTO THE PROCESS AND THE TIMELINE FOR POLICE DETERMINING AMBER ALERT CRITERIA FOR OUR KARIN JOHNSON IS THERE, SHE SAYS. IT’S VERY EDUCATIONAL, VERY INTERESTING TO SEE THE CONVERSATION THERE, AND WE WILL BRING YOU THE LATEST THIS EVENING ON WLWT NEWS FIVE. A THREAT MADE BY AN 11 YEAR-OLD SENT WEST CLERMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL INTO A LOCKDOWN WEDNESDAY MORNING. DEPUTIES SAY THE SIXTH GRADER CLAIMED TO HAVE FOUND A NOTE IN THE BATHROOM THAT INCLUDED THREATS TO SHOOT THE SCHOOL AND CONTAINED INFORMATION ABOUT A BOMB SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE BUILDING. THE STUDENT WHO CAME FORWARD LATER ADMITTED THAT HE WAS BEHIND IT ALL. HE’S NOW CHARGED WITH ONE COUNT OF INDUCING PANIC. PARENTS OF WEST CLAREMONT MIDDLE SCHOOLERS SHARED THEIR REACTION WHEN THEY HEARD THE NEWS. I FIGURED THEY’D HANDLE IT. THEY’VE DONE IT PRETTY WELL HERE IN THE PAST WITH OTHER THREATS, SO I FIGURED THAT EVERYTHING SHOULD BE OKAY. SHE WAS A LITTLE WORRIED AND SCARED, BUT SHE CALMED DOWN. I HAVE FULL TRUST IN THE CLERMONT DISTRICT AND ALL THEIR PROCESS OF HOW THEY HANDLE EVERYTHING. THAT SIXTH GRADER WAS TAKEN TO THE CLAREMONT COUNTY JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER AND HAS BEEN SUSPENDED BY THE SCHOOL. ROAD RAGE IN MIDDLETOWN ENDS IN A DEADLY SHOOTING.
