Born on December 10, 1976, in Manipur’s Shangshak Ukhrul to a retired bureaucrat, AS Arthur, Alfred’s early life was marked by a thirst for knowledge and a passion for social change.

Alfred completed his schooling until class 12th. However, his true calling lay beyond the traditional realms of education. For a brief period, Alfred immersed himself in the world of music, serving as a vocalist in a band. Later, he transitioned into social work and journalism.
